Block 16

Block 16 is the Omaha burger spot with a national reputation. Chefs Paul and Jessica Urban opened the downtown counter in 2012, serving farm-to-table street food and rotating daily specials. The Croque Garçon, a beef patty with ham, a fried egg and truffle mayo, is the burger that put it on the map.

It ranked No. 2 among Omaha-area burger spots by diner reviews in 2025. The dining room is small and the chalkboard specials change, so check the board before ordering. Add the Omaha Fries if you are hungry and want something very local.
