Boarded Up Burgers is the 2025 relaunch of Chubbies Hawaiʻi, one of Honolulu's best-loved smash burger names, now in a small Kaimuki space on 12th Avenue. The burgers are thin, crispy-edged and diner-style, with house onion relish and tangy sauce, and The 1950 is a bigger, bolder take on the old Chubbies classic.
The menu is short, with crinkle-cut fries and calamansi lemonade on the side. Seating is limited and the kitchen is small, so expect a wait at lunch and check social media for daily hours.
