Campus Burgers

Campus Burgers opened in 2024 a block from San Jose State University with a deliberately tiny menu: hamburgers and cheeseburgers stacked with one to four small smashed patties, cooked onions, pickles and a house chipotle sauce, plus fresh-cut shoestring fries.

There is no lettuce or tomato and modifications are limited, which keeps the line moving. It is mainly a takeout spot and one of the cheapest burgers downtown, so it is a favorite with students. A second San Jose location on Park Avenue has also been in the works.
