Rainbow Drive-In has been feeding Honolulu since 1961, and its Kapahulu counter is one of the city's classic stops for local comfort food. Plate lunches and loco moco get most of the attention, but the burgers are part of the same quick, affordable, big-portion tradition.
It is a short trip from Waikiki, and there is a second Rainbow Drive-In in Kalihi if you are on that side of town. If you want to try more than a burger, share a loco moco or a plate lunch with the table.
