Town Topic Hamburgers

Town Topic is the Kansas City burger counter people bring out-of-towners to. The diner traces its history to 1937, and the setup is still about a few stools, a hot griddle and thin patties cooked right in front of you. A single with cheese is the classic order.

There are two Town Topic spots in the Crossroads, on Broadway and on Baltimore Avenue, both handy if you are downtown for a show or a gallery walk. Expect a short menu, quick turnover and a real slice of old Kansas City.
